Bonus Birthday Banner

Well, well, well, look who forgot to include this magical birthday banner in her last blog post...

But don't you worry your little head about it, mamma gonna take care of you. All you need for this good time are some 'Sheet Party Flags' (oh talk dirty to me), some black paint (grrrrrrr), a computer and printer (no web cam needed), a scalpel (move over Mr Grey) and some patience cause there is no rushing to the finish line on this bad boy.

Go ahead and search the internet for a ill-gotten Harry Potter style font. If I remember the website I used I will update this post, how naughty of me. Adjust the size of the font until it is just the right size for your 'Sheet Party Flags'. I found I had to adjust the individual letters point sizes to get a uniform size throughout. Remember this is just the preparation so take your time.

You might want to queue The Pointer Sisters Slow Hand for the next bit because we are getting real personal and up-close. Use that sharp scalpel to trace the outline of the letter. Be careful to stay on the line!!

Your heart is probably as black as Snape's now so go ahead and grab that paint with both hands and lets paint it black. If, like me, you chose to print your letters onto regular white paper you will need to be especially careful when painting. I suggest loading your paint brush with a generous but not globby amount of paint and brush from the outwards in. I practiced a few times on regular paper to get my technique right cause I'm a nerd.

Go ahead and peel back that template and see your masterpiece.
